Terms of Service

Rules for using The Gaffer during the beta. By creating an account or playing, you agree to these terms. Last updated: 22 June 2026.

Acceptance

These Terms of Service govern your use of The Gaffer at thegafferfm.com. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

Beta software

The Gaffer is in early beta. Features may change, be removed, or temporarily unavailable. We may reset, modify, or migrate game data when necessary for balance or technical reasons, with notice where practical.

The service is provided "as is" without warranties of uninterrupted or error-free operation.

Accounts

You agree to:

Provide accurate registration information and keep your credentials secure.
Maintain one manager account and club unless we explicitly allow otherwise.
Notify us promptly of unauthorised access to your account.

Acceptable use

You must not:

Cheat, exploit bugs for unfair advantage, automate play, or interfere with servers or other players.
Harass, threaten, or post unlawful, hateful, or sexually explicit content in forums or feedback.
Impersonate staff or other managers, or scrape or reverse engineer the service except where law permits.
Use the game for commercial purposes without written permission.

Your content and our IP

You retain rights to content you submit (forum posts, club names, feedback). You grant us a licence to host, display, and process that content to operate the game.

The Gaffer name, logos, game systems, art, and code are our intellectual property. You receive a limited, revocable licence to play during the beta.

Virtual progress

Clubs, players, currencies, and rankings have no real-world monetary value and are not transferable outside the game. We may adjust virtual economies for balance.

Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or harm the service. You may stop using the game at any time and request account deletion via support@thegafferfm.com.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, loss of data, or loss of profits arising from use of the beta.

Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the greater of £10 or the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim (typically zero for free play).

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, subject to mandatory consumer protections in your country of residence. Disputes should first be raised with support@thegafferfm.com.

Changes

We may update these terms. The latest version will always be on this page. Material changes may be communicated in-game or by email where appropriate.
