The Gaffer is a free-to-play online football manager. You take charge of a club at the bottom of the pyramid, build your squad, develop players, manage finances, and compete in a shared world where every manager plays by the same rules.

Matches run on a live match engine with commentary, statistics, and tactical decisions that matter. Off the pitch you handle training, transfers, staff, facilities, supporters, and board expectations — all shaped by weekly seasons and promotion battles.

We believe the best manager should win — not the biggest wallet. The Gaffer has no pay-to-win mechanics. Progress comes from planning, scouting, squad building, and match-day decisions over many seasons.

Early beta means systems are still being balanced and polished, but our design goal stays the same: a competitive football world where skill and patience are rewarded.

Every new club starts in Touchline League and fights upward through Dugout, Clubhouse, Boardroom, and Elite League divisions. Only the very best managers earn a place in The Gaffer's Hall.

Promotion and relegation run each season, so your table position, finances, and long-term planning all feed into a career story that can span many in-game years.
